SOBER Score
Objective, daily engagement data that replaces self-report with measurable recovery activity.
Why This Matters
Clinicians see patients once a week. That leaves 167 hours of unobserved time where the only data is self-report — and patients say “I’m fine” even when they’re not. Relapse doesn’t happen in a clinician’s office. It happens in the gaps between sessions.
SOBER Score fills those gaps with real engagement data. When a patient’s score drops from 90% to 40% over a week, the clinician knows — often 7 to 14 days before a relapse event. That’s time to intervene instead of time to react.
How It Works
- 8 daily touchpoints delivered via SMS — 1 meditation, 3 micro courses (with 2–3 engagement questions each), 3 affirmations, and 1 reflection
- 5 points per completed touchpoint — max 40 points/day, displayed as a percentage for intuitive understanding
- Clinician bonus points — clinicians can add 1–2 bonus points per micro course to help patients catch up engagement
- Trend visualization — weekly and monthly trend lines show engagement trajectory, not just daily snapshots
- Early warning — score drops often precede relapse by 7–14 days, giving clinicians time to intervene
Who Benefits
- Clinicians — prioritize outreach to patients with declining scores before crisis hits
- Families & Sponsors — see engagement trends without clinical details via Interested Party dashboards
- Organization Admins — population-level engagement data across clinics for program effectiveness
- Patients — visible progress creates accountability and motivation to stay engaged
Connection matters more than content mastery. Opening a text message demonstrates engagement. Quiz accuracy isn’t required for points — completion is what counts. This philosophy keeps the focus on recovery support, not punitive monitoring.
